Second Limb Fitting
20Nov2008
Today we returned to the Limb Centre for a second fitting. This time the right leg (above knee amputation) fitted properly but when we stood Ava up the knee moved before she had a chance to get her balance. The prothetist decided to make her a straight leg (without knee) to help with her balance before progressing to a leg with a knee in it.
Limb Fitting

Today Ava had her first fitting at the Limb Centre. The left leg (below knee) fitted perfectly. It was great to see her with legs for the first time in 3 months. They said the artificial legs would be shorter than her own legs but they were longer than we expected. The right leg required further modifications to fit properly.
Limb Casting
04Nov2008
Today Ava visited the Hamilton Artificial Limb Centre to have castings made for her artificial legs. She was the perfect patient and entertained everyone by singing Christmas carols while the Prothetist wrapped plaster bandaging around her stump.
